In the Amarna Letters he was called Manahpiya and reigned somewhere around 1479-1425 BC. Some think he was the pharoah that tangled with Moses. He allegedly killed his step-mother (?--relationship is a little complicated) Hatshepsut, who took the throne ahead of him because of his young age when his father died.
