Depending on where you live, your water could have a high mineral content. If you have well water, that always tastes nasty to me.

You might get yourself an attachment on your kitchen faucet, like Brita. It really purifies the water so it has no aftertaste. We were using well water at a summer place and the Brita filter worked very well. It will also turn a different color when it is time to change it.

Good luck.

Water does NOT leave a bad taste in your mouth unless it has certain natural chemicals in it or is contaminated. Have your water checked for impurities. City Water people, on the Gulf Coast, connected a new house to the fresh water line and sewage.

People down stream from that house began to complain about their water being dingy and tasting bad.

The City Water men came back out and they had connected the fresh water line to the person's sewage pipe and the sewage pipe to his fresh water pipe. Get the picture? Good luck. Pops

Depending on the community, the taste could be fluoridation of the water. Many municipalities put fluoride in the drinking water in order to help minimize the incidence of cavities, especially in children.
Communities closer to water often have trouble with algae in the water system. A filter system installed on your home's water inlet will take care of that.

Some water is contaminated by stuff leaking into the ground. Pure water should not have any taste. Glacial water in snowponds has a sweet taste. Best water I ever had.

Your water is what they call "hard" water. It's filled with all sorts of minerals. Try boiling a small amount of water on the stove. Let it boil down. You'll be able to see the mineral traces. Really gross.

Dude, sometimes drinking water after smoking gives it a bad aftertaste. Budweiser is best after smoking.

It is not the water you are tasting, but the old saliva and other particle decaying n your mouth, between your teeth and under your gum line that your are in fact tasting...Start brushing and flossing as soon as you can then go see a dentist......
