I just tried the smokey look on my eyes and i love it.
heres how....line the top and bottom part of your eyes with black eyeliner then smudge it with a Qtip. Then Take black eyeshadow and apply it with a small brush on my eyelid and I blend it into the crease, you can alsoadd some grey. Then I apply a few coats of mascara.
It looks beautiful and for an added shine I run a shimmery silver over the black.
This can also be done with any other eyeshadow and eyeliner color!

use a medium shade on the lid, use a darker shade in the crease, and use a white, or cream as a highlighter right under the brow. you can use purples, grays, pinks or mix them up. this is like the universal way to apply eye shadow. after doing this apply your eye liner starting from the outside of the eye, using tiny strokes making the outside thicker than the inside. you could even smudge it after if you want smoky eyes.

the easiest, simplest way to wear eyeshadow that always seems to work best is when you put a medium shade on your lid and a matching dark shade in the crease, if you want to, you can also add a highlighting color to the browbone.

The way I wear my eye makeup is I like to experiment. I trace black eyeliner around my eyes and then make them pop with a bright color. I also sometimes extend the eyeshadow up to my brows. It's a technique you have to learn though, otherwise, you might look like a clown. Just experiment and have fun.

A really light color below your eyebrows, a darker color on the crease, and whatever color you want on your lid.
I like to have one color on the side of the lid and on the crease and another color in the middle. It's so hard to explain this! Haha.
