I think america is improving, yet I dont even live there
(I'm a neighbor from the north, eh!)

I think so because there have been no terrorist strikes on US soil since 9/11 even though that was the terroists intent. They made that clear that 9/11 was just the beginning.

Hoewever, they were expecting a passive Clinton response and instead got a Texican named George W. to take the fight to their soil.

Most americans forget this though, and would rather get hit on US soil again.

So, the politics and international situation improved, the people in it (with their short term memory) have declined.

Declining. People blindly follow the leader even when it has been proven that they were lying ( I don't just mean politicians, business leaders and the media are also guilty).
People are willing to give up constitutionally guaranteed freedoms because they believe that safety is more important than freedom.
Some time in the future a historian will point to these years and say that the decline of the American "empire" began here.

This country is at a crossroad. We can continue along the path we have chosen (greed, deceit and lies from BOTH filthy parties) or we can resolve to find a new path and reform our political process and demand accountability from ALL professional politicians.

We are, in my view on a decline if we don't take stock really fast of where our form of government is failing it's citizens and actually force a change.

I think it is declining, one example, The "leave no child behind" policy, pure crap. Kids aren't getting the proper education anymore. They are rapidly declining in the aspect of getting the proper attention and needs met like when we were kids. If we fell behind, we were held back a grade, now the kids are just passed on. Their intelligence level is below average and they put it on the parents to put them in extra classes or tutors because the education system decided the kids weren't worth doing their jobs properly anymore.
Sorry, I know, I rambled, but I have 4 kids in school right now, and their needs and education academics is not being met.

It is improving technologically, but it is probably declining morally... When was the last time that you heard that a guy gave his life for his lover? LOL... Well, anyway, also, some Americans are getting bigger (the people are) while others are getting stick skinny!
Oh, and pollution, homelessness, over population, etc... :-)

its declining big time! kids dont respect their parents anymore and its the parents fault because they dont discipline them. gay people can marry which is a sin. people argue over the american flag and god.
people dont appreciate anything anymore, they just want more and never want to give. drugs and alcohol is a problem too. all of these wars are never ending and will always be no matter what we do.
our world needs to change soon, or we may not have one sooner than we think.

Declining. I think fewer people take pride in providing for themselves no matter how little it is. Too many looking for a free ride.
