If you are looking to update to Vista after it is released, FORGET Dell - apart from the fact that they have announced they will be charging for the upgrade (unlike HP or others), they have also earnt themselves a bad reputation with Vista in general.
For a great notebook at a pretty reasonable price, have a look at Toshiba, namely the Satellite Pro - a bloody nice notebook in my own humble opinion, and one of the very few notebooks with a full keyboard

You really need to go back to that Alienware you were talking about a few days ago, it had everything you needed for gaming. You are not going to find anything cheaper than that for gaming. Laptops are not really well suited for gaming, hence you have to be willing to pay to get a gaming one.
By the way, I have absolutely no clue what kanis is talking about in reference to Dell, sometimes I think he makes stuff up as he goes.

try the dell website...duocore is the latest and greatest
you probably want at least 1 gig of ram though
