You are comparing apples with oranges. Current USA is the most influential and perhaps the most powerful ever, just wish they would use it more wisely.

Neither GB nor ancient Egypt were that powerful, at least not in my perception of the word 'powerful civilization'. If you were to compare those two though, it would depend on many factors.
both England and ancient Egypt have long history. so what particular period of each are we comparing? do you mean powerful civilization in military? culture?
Ancient Egypt was amazing. But it didn't excercise as much military influence over other nations as GB did at its peak. But then even GB is an island after all, and it had limits.

'What's the most powerful civilization ever?' is much easier to answer. Rome, at least militarily. Even in its early period when it struggled with such giants as Pyrrhus and Hannibal, there was no single tribe or nation nearly as strong as Rome. And some hundred years later at its peak, Rome's power was pretty much undisputed.

Considering every civilization ever, at its height, there were three which stand out- China, Imperialist Britain, and Rome. All three were relatively sturdy, long- term civilizations.
Han China would get the advantage in population and would have a slight advantage in years (time spent at its height)
Rome gets the fear factor, and the most powerful military
Britain has the edge in total land area and tech
In my humble opinion, Britain is the best, but from that, you can decide.

"america of a of direction! Duh!" definitely america of a would possibly no longer even rank interior the right 10. they have merely been a superpower for for approximately one hundred years, which does no longer come close to to different civilizations. Egypt (1st and third Kingdoms) Greece (nicely the city states of Athens and Sparta) Greece (Alexander the great) Rome (probable the proper ever) Britain (sunlight in no way instruments) there is a few. it is complicated to choose by using fact each and each had their very own term the place they ruled.

The most powerful citizen ever would be an autocrat (someone who self-rules such as an emporer, dictator or ruler or for some, it might be god if they are religious).

In ancient egypt, was largely governed by army consols and governers from the Greek and Roman continents and so egytptian autocrats (rulers) only had a certain amount of power and often shared their rulership with their opponents with some written laws introduced sometime in it's historical past to prevent total control of egypt by any one particular ruler.

Egypt in ancient times, was nothing as vast as it is was until Alexander the great colonized parts of the eastern world and made egypt one vast country by uniting all of the territories within it so had been given different names over the centuries and not always known as egypt. It was made into one large country when the romans colonized and joined seperate states within it.

About britain today:

Modern britain today, is a democratic government and is is suppossedly the people's government and so people have some powers over political decisions. However, it is the army who are far more powerful than our government and they in many ways are the ruling force because they an autocratic rule even over the government, so if we put them into battle with modern day egyptians, I would say that the egyptians would rally support from neighbouring countries they are allies with and would most definitley win if it were a major battle.

Ancient britain and egypt:

Well, depends on how far back you are wanting to go back in time, but in ancient times, when the romans were in command, no would would win because the romans were too busy colonizing mass countries and would never war against their own legions who were posted in both egypt and britain. They would be executed for waging war on their own kind. Egyptian rulers had little power because most of it was signed over to the romans and britain also controlled by romans so it would be romans fighting romans.

You have to remember that britain and egypt were largely governed and ruled by roman officials and armies and colonizing these countries, so why would they want to war against one another?. There would have to have been a good reason for romans to fight their own kind and if they had have done, would have used exactley the same weapons they had and would have been executed anyway by slaves trained in tactics of war often recruited by roman soldiers as extra solider men.

The ordinary citizens of britain and egypt would have to have met and in ancient times, no one knew that each other existed and only through stories passed down by the romans and authors of the day to ordinary people. Ancient people didn't know of far off countries only through stories of other lands. It was only the romans and their slaves who knew about other countries.

Great britain:

I don't know when britain was coined 'great Britain' but sometime in Iceni britain with boudiccea in command and she was killed by the romans for her uprising against their rules. - there was always too many local wars for the romans to contend with and they were also building towns and roads, so never had time to go to war with a major country. They were quite a peaceful race and were very literate and civilized people throughout much of their ruling and invented so many things we haven't rivalled today.

I have a degree in ancient history so have done my best to answer your question and hope that it helps you in some way?

If you are talking of military might and accomplishments, I would say the Roman Empire due to it's length of time of territories it controlled. If you are talking of expansion, I would say Spain, as most of the world speaks Spanish today from Spain's conquest and the follow up of the Catholic missions.
