The letters AKA stand for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. For basic information regarding my sorority, you would want to look on our national website:

www.aka1908.com

There you will find general information regarding the history, founding and programs of the sorority. Some of the other information that you may be seeking can only be determined my being initiated into the sorority. But here is a little insight.

We were founded on January 15, 1908 on the campus of Howard University. We are a service driven organization that is involved in various community related programs. There are more than 170,000 members worldwide and we are growing larger every day. The sorority is full of women from all walks of life who are driven towards a common goal....contibuting positively to our communities on local, nationwide and worldwide levels.

The website will be a good place to start your search for knowledge and deeper insight into the founding of my sorority. BUT I do have to say this.....there is not an AKA who will come on here and just lay all of our sacred trusts on the line. I hope that you respect that and do what we did....research and become a member. That is the one and only way that you will come to obtain all of the information that you say you are seeking.

You may also want to try and speak with a member of the sorority who can and is willing to provide you with insight and guidance through the membership process.
