why is it so hard to make friends in this city?
for gawd's sake there's 8milion people.

Well in such a big town you can be surrounded by people yet feel so alone. I would recommend being social, I know the club scene is really big in NYC there are also lounges and bars..just force yourself to go out and strike up conversations. Make an effort to get to know people and I'm sure friendships will result. Good luck

Just go up to a person randomly and have the courage to say "hi....my name is _ and I would like to be friends with you"

I don't know your situation there but where ever you go . look around and check people out .
Start a conversation .
If you make it hard then it will be.. be cool and be your self.

TRY TO WEAR COOL CLOTHS THAT ARE IN STYLE AND DON'T RUSH AND SAY HEY WANNA BE FRIEND WAIT A WHILE THEN TALK AFTER YOU REALIZE HOW THE PERSON IS.
