Any switch in your child's diet can cause constipation, but I would look for the signs of constipation too. Feel your baby's belly, is it firm or distended? Can you genlty massage his/her belly? If it is soft, then the baby is not likely comstipated. If the baby is fussy, it could be constipated.
Absence of stool doesn't always mean constipation, breastfed babies can go for days without poops becuase they absorb so much of the nutrients in the milk that there is little waste left over.
Make sure your baby is getting enough fluid and having 7 or more soaking wet (heavy) diapers per day. If you suspect constipation, see your pediatrician.
I would hesitiate from switching formulas again too soon, take a wait and see approach.
All the best,

Actually prune juice isnt terrible. A small amount of unsweetened to a bottle of formula will not hurt at all. Actually would be healthier than putting the kyro in the bottle. Our pedi suggested prune juice to us at around a month old. About a tablespoon to the bottle. We also did the kyro thing a few times but i hate to do it because its pure sugar and it never made my daughter poop.
It will take time to adapt to a new formula so stick with it for at least a week. And its also very normal for a baby not to poop everyday. When your baby does poop the way to check for constipation is if the are round marble-like. If you baby isnt showing signs of discomfort dont stress about no poop.

Well I would say ask her pedi about it. It will have some affect on her because it is something new, so see if you can possible mix it with some similac you know 1/2 and 1/2. That way it will not be such a shock to her system. Also call your pharmacist they are great for giving advice on all kinds of issues. Hope your baby is doing well! Congrats!

I had to switch my baby when she was one month old. We went from Infamil to soy. It took a whle for her to be normal and have regular bowels movements, but it will happen. You can try kayo syrup or call your dr they have good medicine that will help instanitly. She is now 2 1/2 months and happier than she has ever been. She was sp un happy the first month of her life with gas and constipation. Now she has two stinky diapers a day. :)

i did the same thing as well with my young one- he wasn't tolerating the Similac so I had to switch as long as he's not projectile vomiting the formula-your good
I was told 1 bottle old formula next bottle new formula.. Also adding an extra ounce or 2 of water to the new baby's formula helps.
He'll be able to pass his stool easier..
I also had to start around 4 months with prune juice-to keep his bowels regular.. Like 1 ounce prune juice to 5 ounces . (Sick kids emergency) My son would get so bad... we would bring him in & they would have too
help him poo...

Oh my gosh! You're getting your information for your 1 month old child in THIS place! Look at the guy who told you to give your baby prune juice!!!!! There are too many idiots out there, who don't give a darn about you or your baby or what happens if you follow their stupid advise. Do not listen to anyone but your baby's doctor. Call him/her tomorrow and get the right information. The information that won't harm your child! That's the start to being a great mom.

I did the exact same thing, and my baby went more regular on the Good Start, plus she had less gas. If you see it doesn't agree with your baby, switch back to the Similac.
Another great remedy for constipation is one teaspoon of Karo light corn syrup mixed in with the baby's formula...works like a charm.

it relatively is an illustration of constipation. At that age until now they start up on infant nutrition they bm's must be very practically liquid or at maximum a paste like substance. verify with the checklist on what you're able to do to alleviate it because of the fact which you do no longer % him to get a bowell obstruction. i desire the little guy feels extra desirable quickly.

I do not THINK so, according to my pediatrician. He says that all formula is basically all the same. I am trying to think what could cause the constipation though. In my child's case (he has always been on Similac and occasionally Enfamil), when he has gotten constipated, it has just been a phase that worked itself out. Good luck.

If one has more iron in it than the other it will cause constipation. give the baby a little prune juice. and one he/she gets used to the new formula all should be OK
