My hard drive recently crashed and I had to have a new one installed. I lost all of my information and had to reload all programs. I am having problems re-installing my HP printer. I have used the disk which came with the printer and also tried to download it from the internet. Any ideas on how to get it reinstalled? (The printer is a 3-in-1 and the copier works so I know the problem is not the printer). Thanks!

You can try this ! Delete any printers that appear in the Settings|Printers and Faxes window. Go to the Control Panel|Add Hardware wizard. The wizard should recognise that you have a new printer connected. Use the browse for drivers option then navigate to the appropriate folder on the HP drivers CD. Use this method (if you haven't already) rather than autobooting the HP drivers CD and allowing the drivers to install without going through the Add Hardware wizard. Cheers....

Sounds like you have lost a driver. This happened to me. Go to the hp homepage and they should have a link to install the driver for your model hp printer.

I had a this same problem. My printer was defective.(hp 1410) It was under warranty Hp sent me the replacement which did not work. I called them back and complained to a supervisor and the sent me a 2570 all-in-one. Call HP they will walk you through to see if this is a printer issue or computer issue.
