Plz identify if ur reffering to humans or animals, and remember to explain WHY.
How regularly should we feed pets (mainly reffering to dogs, but any pets are ok) so they get just enough, but don't get bloated?

What is a torsion, and if bloat isnt caused by pets (or humans) overeating, what is?

I am not real familiar with people getting bloat like dogs, or bloat with torsion.
Of course bloat is deadly...especially when it happens with a torsion. If the stomach twists on itself, it begins to die. A dead stomach or intestine is NOT GOOD!! Can't live without them!!!

The prevention of bloat is difficult. Do you feed twice daily or once?
Do you feed in an elevated feeder or not??
Do you moisten the food or not?
Exercise 1 hour after eating, or longer??

The problem is there is conflicting evidence on what prevents it and what doesn't. A lot seems the individual dog. If it is predisposed to bloat, it probably will at some point. Most never will. It is a real problem.
We had always fed in elevated feeders. Fed pre-moistened food.
Then the info came out that that was all wrong.
We still feed elevated. We no longer moisten the food. It is a crap shoot.
Bloat is NOT just the result of the dog over eating.

DO not listen to anyone who says that bloat is not deadly. I know of dog who die from it all the time. Very common in deep chested breeds!!

Torsion is just what I said...the stomach twists on its blood supply, thereby cutting off the blood supply to the organ. Then the stomach starts to die. Tissue dies quickly without blood. When you have dying tissue in your body, toxins build up and get in your bloodstream and you get sick and die. Animals aslo go into shock very quickly with this, and the ONLY cure is surgery. It is not always successful though, and some dogs die the next day. Bloat is a VERY serious condition!!!

You can't understand "twisting off a blood supply"???? Like kinking off a garden hose!!! Nothing getting through.

Yes, it is deadly without immediate intervention by a vet. Surgery is usually required.

Bloating comes from excessive feeding and watering. Pets are most susceptible to bloating in hot weather after eating a full meal and then drinking lots of water. The stomach "tips" so that the animal cannot vomit out the excess food and water, causing extreme pain. Also, the stomach cannot expel the contents into the digestive system. Essentially, it is trapped there. Only veterinary intervention can save the animal.

The best way to avoid the condition is to give food and water in moderate amounts and do not force the animal to exercise strenuously after eating.

Why does 'Canada' have anything to do with establishing a more rational and less expensive universal medical INSURANCE system here in the USA? Why would having health insurance be a bad thing for the millions of Americans who at this point don't have any? What exactly would be bad about medical facilities and doctors actually getting paid in a timely matter via a health insurance plan that works? As far as 'Cuba' is concerned, it's possible that their health care system works for them even though the rest of their society doesn't. A stopped clock is right twice a day. Last, an ad hominum attack on the size of Moore's belly isn't much of an argument against universal health INSURANCE for all Americans. Canada, Cuba and Moore's fat deposits aren't the issue. The issue is affordable health INSURANCE!!!

Dogs, especially the deep chested ones, can most certainly be deadly! The following link is a great one!
