It made it run so slow that I couldn't even get on line or check my mail. I took it off and am no longer having problems.

What is always rated as 1-2-3-4-5, is not always the best. In my spare time I test antivirus an antispyware to see if the perform as claimed. And especially which ones have hidden embedded trojans or adware installed without your knowledge either in their program or the wizard installer used to guide you through the installation.

Spy Sweeper, I found was a program like a suite that tries to be everything to everybody in the spyware field. These type of program really don't serve the end user in their best interest. They slow down your pc an also are more likely to cause conflict.

You really one two or three seperate antispyware program designed for that sole purpose and nothing else.

As for antivirus you can only use one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with our system. As for antispyware you need two, three or even four. They don't cause conflict and you can not depend on one only as two or three will find what one or the other missed.

Here are two free antispyware programs that I have tested an use in both of my pc. In my personal opinion they are really state of the art technology that offers protection not found in either many of the paid versions.

http://www.ewido.net Ewido was out of Germany and in the past two months they were purchased by AVG. So now the program is called AVG Anti Spyware. Same technology with an excellent background scanner an auto updates. Scans all 195,000 objects in my system. Very low on CPU usuage. The program is purchased, will become free if you don't purchase in thirty days. They will just remove the background scanner and the auto updates. You will have to update on a manual basis.

Here is another one that I use and tested. This one has rootkit protection and rogue dialer protection. Otherwise they are both equal in technology.

http://www.emsisoft.com This company is out of Austria. Download their free A2Squared free version. They will ask you for your email, so they can send you your free key. Likewise scans all 195,000 objects in my pc. Has auto updates an a really excellent background scanner that really works in real time to catch and destroy all spyware. Also the scanner will pop up and ask you if you want to deny or allow a bad cookie. The cookies that are used for tracking purposes.

Both of the above I purchased. You may want to consider the purchase of A2Squared because of their state of art technology when it comes to background scanners that really work in real time.

A background guard like Spy Sweeper, always seems to pop up for all the wrong reasons. You want the background guard to work for all the right reasons, catching in real time a spyware or virus and stopping and destroying before the spyware or virus enters your system.

My personal opinion is to stay away from any antivirus suite or anispyware suite..Because they only cause conflict and and give you poor protection, by stating it is "spam blocker", "firewall", "antispyware". an "antivirus".

One program with just one major feature has a hard enough time protecting let along all of these other features other claim in their suites.

because it has to check every single file on your computer. two options:
1) let it compleatly run, then turn it off
2) adjust the settings
