That could be taken two ways, Frodo Baggins the hobbit or Aragon the King

The main hero is, of course, Samwise Gamgee.
If it wasn't for Sam, Frodo would never have reached Mount Doom. In the end, it is Sam who carries Frodo up the mountain on his back.
Sam is the hero, and he is the final character we see at the end of Return of the King as he returns to Hobbiton and announces, "Well, I'm back." He's the main hero of the story.
But, that's my opinion. There are plenty of arguments out there that Frodo is the main hero, or that Gollum destroyed the ring so he is the hero, or that Aragorn is the hero . . or that they all are. :-)

Frodo is the main hero, as he is the Hobbit who is the Ring Bearer. He is accompanied by Sam Gamgee and Gollum (although Gollum is an unwanted member).

there wasn't one. no one character could possibly be called the 'main hero.' Do we say Frodo because he destroyed the Ring, or Gandalf because he led the expedition, defended them from the Balrog, and then returned to play an enourmous part in the War of the Ring, or Aragorn because he is the King returning? See what I mean? it's pointless to try and lable one charater as the 'main' character.

Aarong,the king played by Viggo Mortensen. Some other characters are Legolas-Orlando Bloom, Gandolf-Sir Ian Mckennan, Liv Tyler and alot more.Decide who's the main character to you.

i think you're talking about aragorn but they pretty much were all heros. frodo baggins, gandalf the grey, legolas, gimli, sam, and alot of other ppl all played a key role in the movies
