I have a strat, tele, Jackson soloist. and an Ibanez SA series. None are Floyd rose though :( I am wondering if you can just mill the body out and drop one in if you find out let me know my local guitar shop doesn't do neck or body work so I am out of luck. Try musiciansfriend.com and look up Floyd rose guitars there like 350 400 and the are a strat body's with a cooler neck. The down side duel humbuckers on most and you need special strings I was thinking of buying one robbing the body and putting all my strat parts in. Plus the fender neck is how I like it. the down side money and the fact that you would have to have everything setup again Pickups action truss-rod intonation etc. That's as far as I got into the subject let me know if you get any farther. BTW Washburn makes a sweet neck through strat with a Floyd rose but its like 700 and I just got that $1000 Jackson and I need to pay it off first.

No. If you switch to a Floyd Rose you'll probably need to do a bit of routing on your guitar, which I wouldn't recommend. For what it would cost to change tremelos, you could pick up a used guitar on Ebay that has a Floyd Rose type already installed, such as an Ibanez.

Replace it with a Floyd Rose-style trem.
