Both have their plusses: a professional football player will always win a bar fight, but a professional saxophone player will be able to play well into his nineties. What do YOU think?

Popularity and early fame argue for being a football player.

But music is something very special. The Greek Muses, the goddesses that talk to each other about astronomy, history, heroism, comedy, religious rite, tragedy, poetry and sex, talk to us, too. But we don't understand their language. Instead, we hear music (Muse -ic, the language of the Muses).

So music, though a vow of poverty for many, is also a rocket sled powering the musician to wisdom. As someone who is no longer young, I see musical talent as the right choice in the long run.

Why can't you be both? Being good at sport argues for some sense of rhythm. Pro sports players (except perhaps golfers, and even they can have career-ending injuries) should have an eye to retirement...

well I say both because look at it like this....football you still get a schoolorship..same with music

I prefer music..it last longer..but sport is also important to keep you in shape
