What I, personally, use is Acoustica Mixcraft. It is a software application that you put right on your computer. There is a demo version that you can use for 30 days, but after that, it only costs about $40-$45 and is DEFINATELY worth the price.
A microphone that is decent enough to use can be purchased from one of the online sites for less than $50.
An adapter to go from XLR (the microphone conncetion) to 1/4 inch (guitar connection) doesn't cost but about $10. An adapter to go from 1/4 inch to what will plug into the microphone port on the back of your computer is another $5-$10.
Basically, for less than $120, you can be set.

The only difference between this set-up and what I use to take songs to my band for consideration for the CD we are working on is that I have a $100 amp added to the mix to give my guirat some sound.

Wishfully questioning i visit declare the Reds would be 89-seventy 3! only too stable of pitching to that end far to absolutely wreck down! I recommend heck they have have been given 3 valid adult males for 15 wins+! between Fogg, Bailey, Arroyo and Belisle they'd desire to get an extra 25 wins and the bullpen will pull out 20 or so because of the fact the Reds would be coming returned in a minimum of 20 out of their 162 video games!!! * hello JC on account that while do the Giants play 182 video games!!

You can pick up a digital multitrack recorder on Ebay for $150-200 bucks. Zoom, Boss and I believe Korg have a drum machine built in to some models. You also need a good multi-purpose mic. I suggest going with a Shure SM-57, SM-58 or AKG D-880
