Guy Fawkes was famously stopped in the tracks of his attempted act of terrorism (blowing up the houses of parliament). In years to come will we celebrate other proponents of terrorism?

I think 9/11 will always be an infamous day for us Americans. I wonder if the London bombings will always be remembered too?

We do not "celebrate proponents of terrorism". We celebrate the fact that Guy Fawkes' attemot FAILED!

Many people today decorate their "Guy" to burn on the bonfire as a modern day hate-figure - you could always decorate a guy as Osama Bin Liner or Saddam or the Muslim terrorist who has been arrested today for plotting to blow up tube trains under the Thames.

No , because Guy Fawkes night is to celebrate how they didn't kill the king and try to get English catholic rule , it's not really for terrorism , it seems more like a " long live the king , " to me .

This is the problem, we allow ourselves to be brainwashed. I think Guy Fawkes was doing a public service and he should have had a holiday in his name. Bush is also a criminal but we will probably make him a saint. Saint GW Bush. Canonised by the German Pope, another dope.

i'm wondering if you have a friend or family member who lives farther away from town where your dog could spend the evening? maybe he'd be more comfortable there? unless your house is right underneath where fireworks happen, is it out of the question to put him in a crate at your home in a room with the door closed (or the basement, that's often quieter) with some of your usual music playing and a big meaty bone to chew? that might help your dog to feel more comfortable.

No, because Saddam Hussain is such a big nothing. As you've said, terrorists are everywhere. Now, if the people of Iraq want to celebrate... They have the freedom to do it now, don't they!

I hope not....
Fawkes failed and did not kill any one. The same cannot be said for Saddam.

I think it's more likely they'll have the burning of the 'Bush' in Iraq.

Looks like Moses wont be the only one to see it.
