I'm using the victor snap style traps , but the little mice keep licking the peanut butter off the trigger. Any suggestions?

Victor snap traps are messy, try the sticky traps. EIther reqiure that you are comfortable cleaning up dead and with live traps- live mice. If you don't have any small children or animals, poison- but the smell of of dead mouse is awful. If you put down poison, put in a place where you don't go often, like the attic, basement or garage.

Mice are hard to get rid of because they survive every famine you throw at them. They can live long periods of time in the walls without water. Don't give them anything to surivive on. Sometimes they live just outside your house and come in for food, or in a old house they have been living there before you (Imgaine that- you're intruding on their space). Make sure that you plug every possible way that they can get in the house, put all the things that they love to eat in rubbermaid containers, throw out any newspaper plastic bags (nesting materials) that you might have in the garage. Fix any leaks- leaky roof, faucet, pipes with condensation- to make the house an undesirable place for them.

damn... I was gonna say use peanut better... how about putting some bird seed in the peanut butter! they luv birdseed.. they would have to kind dig at pull that out? wouldnt they? if that doesnt work.. borrow a cat! lol :) Blessings

WWAAAAAAHHHHH.. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BURN THE MICE! A man litterally burned his down when he threw a mouse into a pile of burning leaves in his yard.. the mouse caught fire and ran right into the mans house.. up the drapes and WHOOOSH! he lost EVERYTHING... was kinda funny in a karma kinda of way..... :)

and oh yeah.. my mom wasnt so smart either... she was trying to be humane and safely trap and then release the mice... at the end of her drive way?!?!? they found thier way back and she ended up spending BIG MONEY on a proffesional.... DUH!

and if you use poison, be carefull that a dog or cat does not find and eat the dead mouse.. they will become poisoned too. and its always nice when the mouse crawls away to die inside your wall, under your bed or fridge... smells sooooo good! (not)

Yep.

Use those new sticky paper traps with Peanut Butter
or sharp cheddar cheese. They will love the food and
get stuck on the sticky card so you can take them some
where and dump or burn them to death.

Dress up as a mouse, then lull them into a false sense of security by becoming friends with the mice and before they know it WHAM!

Sounds like the trigger mechanism isn't working or it would spring shut anyway.

My wife says: try sticky traps or rat poisin.

Adopt, Borrow or Buy a Cat. If you can't do that, get a "Live-Trap". You catch them alive, then you release them into hated neighbors yards or windowsills - LOL!
