In human society, principles exist.
Justice is a judgement of law
Fairness does not exist, except in very limited quantities and those are mostly by accident.

This depends on which philosopher's idealistic perspective you take on justice. Primarily, in the Allegory of the Cave by Plato, which is considered not entirely Socrates' "perspective", Socrates questions the assumptions of man, coming to the conclusion that we are judged as a society, as well as the fact that justice has imperfections. To even attempt to make reference to these 3 terms, however, would be anachronistic, as each is interpreted differently through each philosopher. However, trends would show that justice contains imperfections we cannot overlook.
Of course each of these terms exist in the real world. The real question, however that we ultimately must asks concerns the morality and justness of each. Is justice moral? Are principles realistic? Idealistic? And is fairness taken into account? Why?
To question the existence of principles, fairness, and justice would be pointless. One must question the morality and justness of each, as we priorly knew that each exist in the real world.

Question with a question? Where did these Principles come from?
Answer: God Almighty
He is a Fair God. A Loving God. A Just God. There is non-more Great than He the Living God that this world takes for granted.
(Isa 55:9) For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
(Isa 55:8 ) For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts, neither [are] your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

principles, sure, but fairness and justice, not always. You should read up on modern philosophies. They explain a lot about your question.

These items are merely of human construct, and even then they are applied intermittently. In nature, justice and fairness do not exist. Sad but true.

You are in the real world. Are you part of the problem or part of the solution?

Is it a perception? Does experience validate the premise? I like to believe we try to live this way with all our warts and all.
