Check Woodweb.com There are many hardwood lumber vendors.. I've gotten a source on some quarter sawn white oak and walnut in West Central IA. I know there are some guys with Hickory down in Missouri.

This is going to be hard to find! You can grow them from seedlings, if you can get a supply of hickory nuts.....Here is how---till up a place along side a barn or car garage and plant the seed about 3" deep. Lay a grid of bricks down and cover them with hardware cloth(an put a corresponding brick on top of the other layer of brick) THIS IS TO KEEP THE SQUIRRELS, WILD HOGS ETC; FROM DIGGING AND EATING THE NUTS IN THE WINTER TIME!
I always mix manure and some sand into the tilled soil first for fertilizer and to loosen the seed bed. Natural rainwater running off the adjacent roof at regular intervals sometimes has to be supplemented.
I would also grow black walnuts stated by the same method(and also planted out for two years). Black walnut "bend pioneer" furniture will actually sell a little better.
