The Supreme Court has ruled on this already and as long as the first Amendment is not altered, abortion should be legal.
The S.Court ruled abortion should be legal based on a person's 1st Amd right to privacy over what happens to their body. It has nothing to do with when life begins,etc... as some would like it to. It is all about this great country's freedoms and constitution giving us protections over our personal self.

I think that should be a decision answered by the state courts. The Federal Government shouldn't be allowed to regulate what states allow abortion and which don't. The Constitution clearly says that anything not defined already is left up to the states.
Personally, I don't agree with abortion except under medical necessity.

The question is one which should be resolved in state governments -- either in the legislature or by the voters. Except that the federal government can regulate what it has constitutional control over, such as at overseas military hospitals.
The theory that the Constitution protects a general right of privacy "broad enough to ecompass" the abortion issue is pure hogwash.

I had complications with my first born during preganacy, a neo specialist reccomended to abort due to the fact in the sonogram showed signs of the unborn child's ucraniun was exposed.
I DECIDED not to abort...that was MY decision.

Ahhh the eternal debate !!!! In my view it should only be legal in very rare situations. I am a lawyer and so abortion to me, by definition, is and cannot escape being MURDER !!! It satisfies the legal definition of 'murder' and therefore it is... it must be !!!
For those who studied law, it has tonnes of "actus rea" and has loads more "mens rea" --- so how can it not be MURDER in the first degree ????? IT IS !!! ---- Secondly, how can we call a total accident man and woman go to bed together, baby is then a result and.... call that an accident, lol ???
And... why should it be different to terminate the human life of a person a few months old (after conception) and of a few years old ?? I do not see the difference. Oh yes, it is convenient to all concerned to terminate human life if the mother is 16.... but call it 'murder' if the baby is one week old after birth. The 'birth' does not change the fact that it is a HUMAN BABY we are killing... full stop.... period !!!!
And for those who argue that "THE WOMAN HAS A RIGHT TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH HER BODY" -- it isn't HER body. It is the baby's life we are terminating. Itis HER BODY up to the point of conception. She has a right to prevent conception. BUT ONCE conception takes place it's curtains to HER right to decide... DUH to her !

Abortion should be legal. It's a private matter what a woman does with her own body. And before people say it's a mortal sin and all this other "BS", everyone on this planet has the right to make their own decisions, and live with the consequences......

Yes I think abortion should be legal. To the first answer...Yes BC and condoms are plentiful, but don't work 100%. I know this from experience. I do think that abortion should be only used as a last resort. Don't treat it lightly!!

my opinion is if you're old enough and feel the need to have sex you'll have to except what happens next. taking and innocent fetus's life away because you screwed up is just plain stupid. there's plenty of things you could do such as give the baby up for adoption. but on the other hand if you are raped or something and its not consensual than that's a different story women should have the right to abort a fetus if it wasn't their choice to conceive.

Yes, it should be legal. If it is made illegal, then all that will accomplish is putting people in danger when they go to get abortions anyways. Making it illegal won't stop people from doing it. It will just make it more dangerous and harder to obtain one.
A woman has a right to choose what she wants to do with her own body, nobody else does.
