I'm not sure of the percentages, but there are 252,420 in Oklahoma. Oklahoma has more Native Americans than any other state. In Tahlequah, there is a large number of Cherokees. Down in Tishomingo, there are a large number of Choctaws. I live in a small town between Oklahoma City and Tulsa and we are on the Sac and Fox reservation. The town of Stroud has a lot of Sac and Fox. There are a lot of other reservations...and there are more tribes of Indians here other than the ones brought in on the Trail of Tears. There were already Indians here when the Five Civilized Tribes came through.

I'm not sure of the percentage but there are many descendants of the Trail of Tears victims that still reside in OK.

There is a group of Mohawks in OK. Altough their ancestors were from Northeastern US, and Southeastern Canada, the government relocated a group of Mohawks to OK generations ago.
