Very carefully. Walk softly but carry a big *** stick..
No invasion with troops in afganhistan and Iraq, too many places at once. It won't work.
Aerial bombardment of Iran would crippel their economy. But most military installations have been sunk into the ground following the war with Iraq.
The pentagon's budget is twice Iran gross domestic product.

You sit down with the G-8 & make a plan that most can live with.
If you want to have sanctions over & above what the G-8 wants you can reduce the dealings you have with them.
It won't be the worst thing that ever happened in the world if they did get Nucular Bombs. As long as we can find a way to live with them. I would think they would put up with us.
If we alone stand in their way of getting the bomb they might well get the bomb.
There are forces out there that are up to no good.
But the world has to come out together & fight these forces as a crime & not as a war.

The next President needs to follow the lead on this one. If we pull out too soon, there will be H LL to pay. Not only for the people of Iraq, but the middle east in general. These religious right wingers will do everything they can to eliminate those who disagree with their Interpretation of their religion. The world be damned if we don't handle it the right way.

With great admiration for your contributions to US, I would not dare to even guess what you will have to do. But if I put myself in that position, as the President of one of the most powerful nations in the world, that stands up for freedom of other people in other nations, I feel a overwhelming burden in trying to tackle another nations resolve.
I certainly will not try to tackle Iran because it's an Islamic nation and that most terrorists are Muslims. I certainly will not try to tackle Iran because it's president took a tough defying stand against United States or United nations. I certainly will not try to tackle Iran because they are trying to advance their technology and create more comfortable life opportunities to it's people.
I will only try to tackle Iran if they pose a threat for peaceful pursuit of happiness of the people in the world or United States in particular. US national security is of utmost priority to me as the President of it's people and therefore US strategic interests come into play also. At the same time whatever I do, I don't want make another enemy of US; it has enough. As the foremost advocate of freedom of human beings all over the world and the head of a nation founded on the guiding principle "All men are created equal", I want to give every opportunity to negotiate with Iran and encourage my people to think positively of Iran. Of course we are talking about nuclear prolliferation issues and the WMD's development possibilities.
I would try to make a deal with Iran. I will help them to develop nuclear energy technology for peaceful purposes but get them to sign a UN resolution that says the following. "If at any time in the future, either US or allies or other nations in the world detect that Iran is trying to proliferate dangerous technology or use it for endangering, invading or intimidating other nations or its people groups, without proper authorization from United Nations for good cause, Iran grants United nations to initiate unlimited and unconditional inspections of its facilities without notice and if allegations found true, Iran agrees to immediately dismantle and discontiunue any such facilities or operations. If such action does not come through within a reasonable time period from Iran, UN security council will authrize US and allies for an immediate preemptive strike or appropriate action against Iran without notice, in such a way to protect the interests of the world people and if possible Iranian people."
Any military threats, in my opinion will be ineffective. Threats beget threats. Violence begets violence. If we are seeking and advocating peace, we should become a super negotiator than a super military power. I submit this point of view to you with utmost respect.
