It sounds like you may be dwelling on the past. In this day and age, at least in this country, there are no issues about skin color. All skin tones can be beautifull. . . the thing is . . each individual must be content with the skin they live in and not even think they are different from anyone else. Each person is made in God's image and God decided what skin tone to paint you with. That is good enough for me. I do not question my skin color or any one elses.

Long standing social stigmas is really what is wrong, but that is not specific to any race, culture, or ethnicity.

I mean, take a look at near any history book that is mainstreamed in the United States - it's *white* history. It's all about how white people did some **** and how white people painted some stuff and about how white people "discovered" places. Look at mainstreamed movies - some might be about race relations but it's nearly ALWAYS from the white-perspective.

It's not that anything is wrong with those who have a darker skin tone, it's just a societal stigma which says that white is what is the norm, what is right, what is the role model and anything else is just...not white and therefore inferior because there isn't adequate representation in things that we are exposed to each day.

Although I don't know if that was the answer you were looking for...

Woo I totally know what you mean, unfortunately, for most people, people that are lighter skinned May be treated better, it's that whole, "well he/she is closet to white, so he/she is cool with me thing." I know that many people dont want to hear this but hey, it's still goes on the world in this world today. Skin color does for some i guess, play a big role in many events of your life.

For those people who have experienced racism from folks, you cant really blame them for thinking about this topic. I will not lie, I think about it alot too! I don't know if you have experienced judgement upon your skin color, but hey I have from peeps that just take one look at me and it really sucks lol, but it's not my fault. Sometimes, for some it's worse than others. Those haters are just "Tartar Sauce."

Dark skinned people are just attractive as light skinned people and if any person has a problem with how dark or how light someone is then there missing out on your personality and character! And if it is just because of your physical appearance then they are'nt worth trying to give a chance or be with, or whatever the case!

i don't know about others, but i think darker tones are beautiful and exotic. i think many people do since so many people spend fortunes on tanning beds and other ways to get darker. as far as those who have a problem still today they are just small minded people who aren't worth the worry.

Anyone who judges a person based on skin color is primitive.

Nothing, we're all equal. We should all just be transparent, maybe that would fix our color problem.
