I am planning to upgrade to Windows Vista when it is released in 2007 and was wondering if the above graphics card will work with Windows Aero. If not, is it possible to change your graphics card? Which would be the best one to buy for Windows Aero?

Actually, I used the Vista Upgrade Advisor, but it was a little strange. Under system requirements, it said that I need to upgrade my video card, but under devices, it says that the Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family just needs a driver upgrade from Microsoft Update before I install Vista. Any other answers?

Microsoft created a tool specifically to scan you machine and tell you if your hardware's good enough to run Vista. It'll even make recommendations about what parts you need to upgrade if it decides your machine isn't good enough. You can download it from here:

Also, upgrading your gfx card can indeed be done and is pretty easy to do *if* you've got a desktop machine. If you've got a laptop then you can't do it at all, you're screwed. Just one of the many reasons laptops suck 4ss.

NO. that's not even a video card! that's onboard motherboard portraits... I used to play GTA IV daily, and you decide on an exceedingly sturdy card to have the flexibility to play that sport, as that's totally graphically in intensity. On my previous laptop I had a $2 hundred card that ought to get 40 5 FPS on medium settings interior the airport, and 30FPS everywhere else. so which you will choose a sturdy card to even play it, no longer to point get extra effective than 60FPS - and don't even think of of working it on a intense res computer screen lol. To play GTAIV on intense settings with a sturdy computer screen you will choose something like a Nvidia GTX 570. It became additionally between the main CPU in intensity video games while it got here out, and with a processor like that that's going to likely be working at one hundred% each and every of the time attempting to run it i'm afraid, my previous laptop had a quad middle 2.6 Ghz, and the CPU became at ninety% continuously.
