some 'store front' tax preparers will accept your last pay stub of 2006 in lieu of a w2 form. (or your most recent stub if u're trying 2 get a 'holiday loan') they get away w/it because they have a huge data base that has most companies' addresses and EINs. the problem is, if there is ever a discrepancy between what the employer reports 2 the IRS on your w2 and your last pay stub, it could come back 2 bite u. i wouldn't advise it, but millions do it every year. no matter what, u cant file an 'official' return electronically until mid Jan. when the IRS starts receiving 'live' returns.

No, for one thing the 2006 forms have not been released and if you file without the W-2 they will hold the return until you send it to them.

You can't

As of now, most forms have not been finalized. The IRS doesn't accept returns electronically until the middle of January.

Some places may loan you money now based on your anticipated refund but those loans are generally a very very bad deal.
