How long does it take you to tell if someone is nice or not?

You are with a friend and you are meeting somebody for the first time. After they leave you turn to each other and say they are nice!
Now, how long did it take you to make this impression?

About 5 minutes, I trust my instincts on this an am usually proved right.

Often my husband has thought someone was nice and I have had my reservations about them from the first meeting and have usually been proved right.

In my experience women are better judges of characters than men, and we suss people out quicker

I dont have a lot of great attributes, but i am a very good judge of character (God knows why this is) many people over the years have commented on this. I have met some very friendly/bubbly/nice people that everyone loved, ive walked away and said Theres Something Amiss About Her, I Just Cant Take To That Person, then to be told im being silly, coz she's so lovely. 3 weeks later im getting the phonecall saying...How Did You Know? (she's just made a pass at my boyfriend/ stolen money from me, blah blah) This gift has done me well over the years. So my answer would be....Within 5 minutes.

they say that "First impressions count" for me, it only takes one minute to decide if the person is friendly or not, (which most of the time, the other person will make an effort) however, like all situations, you do get bad eggs, and in situtaions like these, you can get them a lot more of the time!

a good way to know what the person is like is to talk about things they like, if they are open about pretty much anythign, then they are alrigght people, however, if they think the whole world revolves around them, then they are not much as a friend!

the moment a person's conscious self gives way and the unconscious self slips out. It can be a look a word a gesture but in that moment they reveal far more about themselves than they may even know about themself.

How long? depends on how powerful their defences are, and how good they are at keeping the rest of the world from finding out. Good or bad, makes no difference, the process never changes.

Some people may seem unfriendly when you first met them but once you get to know them they could actually be very nice and sincere people. Some people seem nice at the very beginning but when you turn their back at them they will start gossipping about you or would not offer to help when you need one. Most importantly, people do change (not just physically) as time goes by.
But for me it may take 1sec to days to realise who they really are. Most of the time I could tell by just looking at their features. I'm not talking about ugly or beautiful...

I'm a very good judge of character and can usually tell if a person is 'nice' within a few seconds of meeting them - it's strange but true.

Be careful. Some people seem mean but are really nice and the opposite. Take a while to talk to someone before you judge.

If I say they are nice I really mean that they did not register as remotely interesting or stimulating or challenging with me. It is a silly meaningless wee word that means nothing.

I can make my mind up on someone almost instantaneously but I know that says more about me than them. I try not to make my mind up and put anyone in a box because people are seldom all good or all bad! You need to heighten your own self awareness to decide why you react to certain people in a certain way!!!
