sorry but I never really liked them in the first place, if I want third rate glam rock I'll go watch a local covers band. he was never in the same league as t.rex et al.

This is a difficult one for me because you always remember your very first record with some fondness (remember records?) and mine was one of Mr Glitters.

I would however be willing to put a bullit in his head so you know my current feelings about the guy.

I was recently in a pub with some friends and their children which has a kids play area. The girls who run that section control their own music and started to play Leader of the Gang.

I did tell them after it clicked with me but it did take a while to register as with others there, some people really kicked off but i thought is was unfair because it was an innocent mistake.

I think M Jackson is something diffrent, i'm sure 95% of people thing he was guilty but got away with it, yet we're still happy to sing along when it's on the radio.

I don't think think it's the last we'll hear about him and young children so he'll probably be back in the Dock again before long.

I don't think the music is valid anymore but purely from a musical perspective.

Gary Glitter was huge in the seventies but fellow glam rockers such as the likes of T.Rex, Slade and The Sweet more than cover the era musically and were far superior to Glitter.

Glitter's music was simply inferior to his contempories and for that reason i think his music is no longer valid.

I still play his music DESPITE his abhorrent tastes.
I play music by homosexuals too despite being a heterosexual male.
Mind you I should have guessed about Gary`s tastes from his early records under the name Paul Raven - I mean a song called "All Grown Up" about a young girl and an older guy should have rung at least one bell LOL.
It`s no validation of Gary but at least his targets were female unlike a certain "Prince Of Pop" LOL.

The music is still valid, if you like it. That's the only validation music needs!
It has been ages since I heard any of Glitter's music, I liked it back then.

Just because he has a dodgy past we should still play the music. Its not about the man or the group its about the the music.
Jacko is a kiddy-fiddler and his music is still played.

Good music is good music. If you like it then listen to it. Obviously he is not a very good person but then again neither is Michael Jackson and I still like some of his music.

I've never been a fan of his, even before the child abuse stories came out. I've always preferred T.Rex. It seems sad the he's still alive and Marc Bolan is no longer with us.

I think if you still like the music, then you should still listen to it. However, you shouldn't buy any more of his stuff, thats if any where still stocks it! On the subject of Wacko Jacko, i don't think he is a kiddie fiddler, but he is a very disturbed man who has never grown up, and i think he should seek help.

what about him doing a version of 'Don't let your son go down on me'?
There is a pedo on every street. There would be hell to pay in the U.K if the public could see the sex offenders list- say hello to your friendly neighbour.
