I have a 93 pontiac grand prix.The fule pump takes forever to prime and I have changed the filter.When I push the needle in on the vavle on the fule rail I get fule to come out,but it doesn't squirt out.

Try wrench2 suggestion 1st. Look for it and if it's ok, then it's probably the fuel pump. Before you put in a new one, have a friend you can ask to take a look see? Ask around/your friends? for a reputable shop and they'll probably know. In the yellow pages, look for the fish symbol which means they're Christian and won't stiff you.
I was told I needed my transmission rebuilt. Went to a small of the wall shop and it ended up being a 3 dollar hose. Be careful out there.

Sounds like a fuel pump in need of replacement.

Drop the fuel tank and replace the pump.

there is a .98 piece of rubber hose that connects the fuel pump to the fuel line that ruptures.does'nt happen often,but it can make you pull your hair out when it does.
