First and foremost, you will have to stop yourself from making generalizations like the one you have just made about Hispanics. Whereas I am more than sure that you have met some pretty misguided folks--some of whom just happen to be of Hispanic descent--it is unfair to make generalizations about an entire group of people based on the undesirable behavior exhibited by a few of its members. If I were you, I would try to find a culturally diverse volunteer organization in the area and do a little volunteer work. By taking this route, you may have the opportunity of working with and/or helping people of different cultural backgrounds. If that is not possible, then look online for forums and/or groups that promote racial unity. If you do this, I am more than sure that you will be able to meet or correspond with a few people that may change your attitude about Hispanics as well as any other group that you may have a problem with. Good luck!

I don't know what the hell your talking about....I'm hispanic and I am not anything like you claim we all are... I don't deny being black or white - since i'm neither anyways....my fiance is jamaican and we have a child together who speaks perfect english, patois, and spanish... maybe if you opened your eyes and got out of that bubble you live in and meet a variety of people within the hispanic race - then you wouldn't have to judge the whole race based on examples of some ignorant people you crossed paths with... every race has their good & bad, you don't judge the race as a whole, you only judge the person ..... educate yourself about hispanic culture - because there is a BIG difference in the 18 or more Hispanic countries

Judging from what you said, it sounds like you're not necessarily "racist," that you don't dislike Hispanics just because they're Hispanic, you just don't like the behavior you've experienced. That ain't racism, that's having enough dignity to be offended. What you might consider is to remain cordial when you have to be exposed to them, and don't assume all Hispanics are alike. You can't help how you feel, but you can deal with those feelings in a mature manner.

Its really in your head its not an easy battle to win and its a long one but as long as you know you are judging a race on a group of people regardless of size. You will be ok If you want some help more than yourself watch the movie American History X all the way to the end it won't make sense unless you do but the point of that movie will open your eyes to let you fix the problem. Good Luck

I have worked at a school for 22 years and this is what I tell the children in a poem I wrote.
If you must hate someone don't let it be
for the color of the skin that you see.
This one thing we all know
it takes every color together to make a beautiful rainbow.
I always tell them I would love them if they were purple with pink polka dots. This always makes them laugh. No one can help what color their skin is, but they can help what they are on the inside. I don't think you are too racist because you said you have tried to change. I'm white, my precious son-in-law is Hispanic, my best friends are black, and my daughter's best friends are Vietnamese. My life looks like the United Nations and I love it!!!!!!!!

I don't really think that's racist. I am hispanic myself and yes I sometimes dislike my own race for being trashy and ignorant but you can find trashy people of every race. That doesn't mean all people from one race are like that. Seriously you can find disgusting, rude, and trashy in all races. I hear hispanic people say that about blacks all the time but that is just being very close minded.

I guess it depends on where you live. You probably just happen to live around a lot of hispanic trash. But I've happened to meet hispanics who are very friendly, polite and giving Catholic people.
