1. JOKE ANSWER
It was John Lydon, in 1976. He showed how rock tended to take itself too seriously and developed grandiose allusions, as personified by pompous, "hippy", stadium bands such as Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Yes, and Led Zeppelin. What Lydon achieved was a return to rock's basics, and a closeness with the audience. His band, the Sex Pistols, led the punk revolution which revitalised and popularised rock music, and included bands like The Clash, The Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshees etc.

2. SERIOUS ANSWER
It was James Hutton (1727–1797)

this is short for autonomous rock which the artist/band has been signed to small labels or unsigned. The artist/band could later be signed to a greater physically powerful label, yet nevertheless could be titled as indie rock. BQ: some indie rock bands are commonplace. a sparkling music they play on the radio each and every of the time is named "Pumped Up Kicks" via Foster the persons, and that i'm particularly specific that they are labeled as indie rock, so in case you prefer to get into indie perhaps you may attempt that. BQ2: wonderful.
