I would say the similarities include time alteration.
i would say the biggest difference is with the mind. LSD alters your mind to the point where you can see whats in front of you.
Marijuana alters the mind where you are psyched out, but still in control of one's senses for the most part.

Marijuana is less of a hallucinogen than LSD. Hallucinations from smoking pot are relatively uncommon, but are the hallmark of an acid trip, including trails and patterns which are unusual after smoking pot.
Marijuana is a natural substance, unadulterated. LSD is a chemical compound.
The high from marijuana is most intense (peaks) for about the first half hour - and the high lasts only about 2 hours, at most 4. The high from acid lasts on average about 8 hours and peaks at 1-2 hours for about 2 hours.
LSD produces a far more intense trip, a true alteration of what your mind perceives as reality. You cannot "shut off" the trip, particularly during the peak period, if real life beckons and you desire a clear head. Marijuana allows the mind to retain a better sense of reality and you can easily come down by just deciding to be straight should a situation call for it.

I hear that the biggest difference is intensity. LSD is a very very strong hallucinogenic that pretty much can fool a person into thinking or seeing anything. I also hear that it could change your perception and thinking patterns for years or maybe for a lifetime. Marijuana is a light hallucinogenic - your feet and mind still remain on the earth - comparatively.

Your reaction to marijuana is generally the same as time time before (for the most part). You cannot count on anything with LSD. Each time might as well be the first.

they are two completely different things....marijuana is natural and lsd is man-made...weed is a plant and lsd is chemicals...time alteration? no i dont think so...lsd lasts way longer that the high you get from smoking a bowl so i dont even know how in the heck you can compare the two....lame lame lame
