I'm not asking if you think he deserves it or not.
I'm wondering if anyone else thinks he'll be allowed to just serve life in jail because executing him might bring about too much violence as CNN said last night. It seems to me not executing him will also bring about a lot of violence.

With the amount of time it took to get the guy in custody, and then the trial, I wouldn't be that surprised if he wasn't executed at all! It's all world politics, which is even more complicated than regular politics! Something new will come to light in regards to Saddam, and his sentencing will be changed or his lawyers will file an appeal that will take up tons of time!!
With the violence to come, they can't win either way! You kill him, there will be protests and if you don't there will be protests! Even if he was just given life in prison, there would be violent protesting due to the amount of people who think he deserves to die!

I was wondering the same thing myself but it is in the hands of the Iraqi court system..and from what I have read he could be executed within the next 60 days if his appeals fail.

a million.) Osama bin weighted down is ineffective. 2.) The FBI never even pinned 9-11 on Osama. They suggested they did no longer have sufficient info. 3.) No guy merits punishment until eventually got here upon responsible in a courtroom of regulation. ##

He'll get out of it. The US and/or United Nations won't want to cause further chaos in Iraq so they'll cut him a deal.

Whether he gets out of the hanging sentence or not, he needs to somehow pay for the crimes he committed against all those people.
