Yes because I have a friend who has two children and a home pregnancy test did not work on her for either of her children. As it turns out she did not produce enough of the hormone that indicates pregnancy for a home pregnancy test. She could only confirm pregnancy through blood.

False negatives are more common than false positives, specially if you didn't use a sample of first morning urine to do the test. The only definitive ways to diagnose a pregnancy are the following:
-Visualization of the developing embryo or fetus by means of an ultrasound, CT scan or MRI.
-Detection of distinct fetal heartbeats using a doppler device or a fetal monitor.
-Palpation of fetal body parts by an experienced doctor, midwife, or OB Nurse Practitioner.
-Visualization of the fetal skeleton by means of an Xray [not recommended].

Yes, false-negative results are very common. I'd say to either go to a doctor or clinic to have a blood test done, or wait it out.. If you do not menstruate within a couple of weeks, test again. Relax, stress can cause a delay in your cycle. Good luck!

Not generally. It measures a hormone level in your urine. Unless the test is old and faulty...if it says negative, you are probably not two months pregnant. Try another test to be sure. ALso go see your doctor. Early prenatal care is a good idea. (if your pregnant...congrats)
