Don't go to a movie. Go to lunch or dinner so that you can talk and get to know each other.

I'd say dinner and a movie too. Find a movie you'll both enjoy...something light, may be a comedy or so, and then finish of the date with a dinner. If you do the dinner first and then the movie, you can complete the date with a walk and a stop at an ice cream shop like Bruster's, assuming that you are still enjoying each others company.

I'm a girl and I enjoy quaint little places. Someplace where it is more intimate, not some big chain restaurant. Maybe somewhere that has jazz or some type of easy listening music. Order a nice bottle of wine and take it from there. If you don't know about different wines ask your server they will gladly help you. Good luck!!!!,

A first date should be simple. Maybe go to dinner and talk. Use the first date to see if there should be a second date.

I'd have to say go anywhere. Take ur date to one of ur favorite restaurants. Hey even if it's Captain D.'s if they r really there for u they shouldn't care. (But seriously dont take them places like fast food restaurants they r sleazy and nasty. and it gives off the vibe that u r too cheap to take ur date out to a real restaurant!)

If its a first meeting, maybe have coffee at a Starbucks or Borders books? Otherwise, you can't go wrong with lunch or dinner. As long as you can go somewhere and have a conversation to get to know one another.

How about spending the day at a ski resort, that is if you have any in your state. Ski resorts are always very nice and it is possible to find a secluded area as well.
