I'm planning to audition for a musical and I was wondering what's a good song. I have to sing it with a piano and the song has to be age appropriate (I'm 15, btw) Anyone know a good song?

Sing a song you already know, not a song someone recommends to you right now. If you sing a song you know, you sing it with confidence and feeling.
Sing something in the range you are most comfortable with. Soprano, alto...
Sing something up-tempo, and at the call-backs, a ballad, so they can hear all the potential you have.
Make sure you know a little about the song, who sings it, what it is from,. and how they feel so you can get the right idea and emphasize.

Ok I am going to beat you up for second...in a nice way
First, it hard to determine because none of us have ever heard you sing, and we do not know your range (alto/soprano?)
Secondly, no idea what show you are auditioning for, your audition piece should compliment that
Third, EVERYONE does Phantom at their audition , my suggestion would be to do something refreshing
(Les Mis, Miss Saigon, are so overdone)
1. Once Upon a Time from Brooklyn (if you can hit the high note at the end, you need a record deal)
2. Sunset Blvd-listen to this CD
3. Jekyl & Hyde-if you are going to do Phantom, you might as do something that is Braodway and contemporary

hmmm that age appropriate crap i HATE that. who knows whats age appropriate for 15 year olds?!?!?!?! im 15, too and i always have trouble finding something to fit that description!
do a song from whatever musical you're auditioning for. and act it out all great and everything.
or one of my favorites...cliche yes...but On My Own...Eponine was about that age.
Im sure a lot of girls will sing that though so try to learn the very beginning to that song.(in case you dont know it starts "and now im all alone again....") so its like a breath of fresh air when you go in to audition ya know?

You should sing a song that is from another musical. here are some suggestions: BABY I'M THE BOTTOM YOUR'E THE TOP from anthing goes. it really shows your voice and is do fun to sing.
or COLORS OF THE WIND FROM POCHANTAS!!!

I always used "Que Sera, Sera" and "Part of Your World" (Little Mermaid) when I was a teen trying out for plays. Both worked well with my voice and allowed me to show a bit of personality too. If you're looking for a lead over chorus, it's good to show how well you can express yourself when you sing.
Find a song you feel comfortable with and that you can handle vocally.
