Do you maybe mean a gondola?
They are boats that they have in Italy. They are usually driven by people standing up. They are oftent thought to be romantic boat rides- where the drive will sing to the lovers in the boat.
Do a search of teh Ventian Hotel in Vegas. They have gondola rides there- you can see what they look like.

It is the boat that they use in Venice on the canals. its a very shallow boat.
