Iraq War: this really is not fairly a liberal or conservative issue. For conservatives who are anti-interventionists and who believe that we could simply stay out of the Middle East, they are against it. For liberals who believe that no war is worth fighting regardless of the consequences and that it is okay for these maniacs to kill us, they are against it. For liberals and conservatives who understand that Iraq became the next staging ground for terrorism after the initial successful against the Taliban, and that al Qaeda expelled from Afghanistan moved to Iraq and that Hussein had the means and motivation to attack the U.S. with a hundred new 9/11s -- those liberals and conservatives understand that the Iraq war was/is the lesser of two evils (just as was fighting fascism and the axis powers was during WWII). Albeit I suspect there are more conservatives than liberals who understand this.
USA PATRIOT Act: the greatest critics of this act were conservatives. It requires you to trust that the government will do the right thing -- that the needs of the government are more important than those of the individual. That is a notion at home with liberalism, not conservatism. Liberals' objection to the Act seems to be rooted in the fact that it is part of national security and is a tool for fighting wars (actually foremost for preventing wars, but failing that it assists with war fighting).
Public School Funding: conservatives are in favor of providing the best education for the best price. This doesn't mean that public schools shouldn't be funded, but that there should be measures such as merit pay (pay better teachers more), and to allow competition through vouchers and charter schools (both or which are the actuation of 'public school funding').

Up till recently, I would have answered conservative to all three. But my opinion has changed.
War in Iraq - mostly conservative.
Patriot Act/Homeland Security - both
I hear more liberals say they support biometric ID than I do Conservatives. But then I hear more conservatives approve of wiretapping than I do liberals.
Education - both
The differences I see here is, illegals and their supporter's being liberals, want our tax dollars used to give them a good education. Whereas conservatives and some liberals that don't support illegal's don't want their tax dollars spent on illegals education.
TV and Radio makes it sound like all three are conservative issues. Talking to the people, I found it isn't so. The one thing all liberals agree on is their hate for Bush and conservatives. Conservatives fear the radicals of the liberals. They fear the anything goes mentality of liberals such as, gay marriage, partial birth abortion, taking God out of the country and so on.
Conservative and liberal politicians are so busy being defencive and obsessed with obtaining power and riches, they can't see the forest for the trees.
I hold no political affiliation so maybe I hear things different.

First of all let me state that I am a Conservative. That said in the strictest sense all 3 of issues are liberal Conservative tenants basically hold that Government should be limited, The judiciary should practice restraint. and fiscal responsibility should be exercised.. so in essence all 3 issues run counter to The most basic idea of conservatism. That said you will not find many liberals supporting these ideas. We all make compromises and realistically speaking most conservatives feel that when it comes to national defense and our children that exceptions should be made. on the war in Iraq that has divided people on both sides liberal and conservative. Politics is a muddied area at best and many liberal ideas are espoused by conservatives and many conservative Ideas espoused by liberals For instance conservatives generally support School choice but not abortion choice. Certainly school choice is conservative but pro-life (as in outlawing) is not it interjects the govt into the peoples life I my self am Pro-life but admit it is not on the basis of conservatism but on the basis of the sanctity of life. Liberals Tend to support the Idea of a Secular Society yet this is hardly Liberal or progressive in the strictest sense which generally has an inclusive philosophy.. My point is perception is funny and it's hard to put anyone liberal or conservative in a box My message is Learn the facts yourself not from party pundits and vote based on the facts or simply folks USE the mind that god gave you. It is a strange world indeed and an even stranger web we weave

Support for the war in Iraq is basically conservative. However, I will only say that the reason I don't support the war is because we went in there for no good reason and there are thousands of things we could have spent that money on at home.
No one is against Homeland Security other than Al Qaeda.
Spend more on education is the liberal view. Bush cut spending on schools pretty harshly.

You're doomed on this question. Sorry.
What's liberal/conservative is about as useful of a label as Democrat/Republican. These concepts are out-moded and getting to be as irrelevant as the UN.
Liberals and Conservatives both profess that they protect rights.
But, according to Federal Judges, the Bill of Rights doesn't apply to you until you fully emerge from the vagina. And your property rights exist only at the whim of local and state governments who might want to use it to build a Costco to increase their revenue sources. And the government can snoop in on your international transactions with foreign enemies and trace your banking contributions to them. Does Freedom of the Press allow the publication of government secrets during wartime? What's the difference between exercising a right and abusing it?
The Dems vs Repubs issue is already an incoherent mish-mash, and you see clear problems between libs vs libs and conservatives vs conservative.
Me, I'm just a old fashioned Goldwater conservative. I don't care about your race, creed, color, sexual orientation. We're citizens, and having a big huge government controlled by one group or another is not necessarily a good idea.
(Registered Libertarian. Don't know where else to go!)
1) Saddam broke the conditions of the Armistice. That can never be acceptable--- Europe should have learned this during WWII.
2) Patriot act--this is tame compared to the operation of all other presidents during times of war or peace.
3) Education-- I believe in a continuity of education for all that consistent public education can provide, but we certainly are not getting a bang for our buck.

for the reason that the international temperature has basically risen via roughly .06% over the final hundred years, i visit ought to bypass with President Bush in this one. I remember interior the early 80's that the whine of the time replaced into worldwide cooling. yet, you may continually do what the whack interest Gore does. very own an over sized residing house, fly in inner maximum jets, be chauffeured around in armored SUV's and limos, all on an analogous time as condemning others that do those issues because of the fact you purchase your experience of right and incorrect sparkling with "green factors".

Going one way or the other on those issues doesn't peg you a lib or a con. However, classifying libs and cons in such a manner only seeks to divide us even further.
