A few years ago, I read an estimate of 30 to 50 years but last year that was reduced to between 10 to 20.

I terms of guns someday in 30 years, but most likely the economic growth and income distrubtion growth will create a unstable situation where Chinese communist goverment will collaspe. China per capita income is less than 1/4 of Mexico todays, and when it reaches Mexican level expect poltical fallout to occur. For China just to reach half the income level of Europe it would take 40 years. In reality, America will still be richest superpower in the world in the next 50 years. China may have a super Army but that is because of how many people. America will be superpoewr 50 to 100 years from now

The truth is it wont. It doesnt have to. US Today on Thursday reported that China has 15 billionaires, far more than the US, made by US stocks. With the US getting foreign loans with lower interest rates to help lower our deficit from China and other countries, China owns us. The news the other day said China owns 3 trillion in US stocks. Now if they were to fold on that stock where would we be. Clinton has sold China all the Naval bases he closed in California and has allowed several countries the rights to use several military bases in the US, which counterdicts the laws that came out of WW2. We dont have to worry about us losing our superpower status, we gave it away. The only question is what will China do with all the idiots in the US?

Unlikely, their advances are almost all built off of the US's R&D.
It always lags behind and their system does not encourage independent thought. We tolerate a trade imbalance but can stop that any time we choose.
and I agree with another answer, India is much more likely to be a world power than China...India has an operating aircraft carrier and China has yet to develop enough to have one.

as soon as the Democrats take power again. With the Democratic agenda to villainies and destroy all American business, and make laws that force companies to pay higher taxes, larger medical and then trying to tax profits, a business is forced to choose between moving or making money. oh and then there is that thing with giving away national defense secrets.
and claiming that the US is the biggest threat to peace in the world...

Probably never.
Having a lot of people doesn't mean that you'll eventually become a superpower.
China will become more powerful, but it has neither the technology nor the financial capability to seriously compete with the USA.

That question is nearly impossible to forecast. You never now with the way technology builds off of itself, reverse engineering, alliances that get formed to balance power, natural disasters, etc.
Just one more thing I thought I'd add... I think India will beat them too it, if it happens.
