Leopard Gecko - Doesn't require any special lightning, can be handled and is extremely hardly. They also come in many different types of color morphs. A 10 gallon tank, screen hood, heat pad, water dish and some crickets will do.

NOT an iguana. They are not "beginner" pets. They are in fact, very rarely cared for properly. They are difficult, and need special lighting, special food (not salad like the pet store says) and need to be handled DAILY. Most pet iguanas die at a young age from lack of proper care. I repeat, do NOT get an iguana.

why not snakes? oh well...
my friend has a geko. it is a really easy to manage creature. you only have to clean the tank and feed it grasshoppers... (they can be dead) oh and dont forget the water...
also, try a turtle. they live for like ever if cared for properly. they need water thought so the tank can get a bit heavy when cleaning time comes around. (wait...thats an amphibioius creature... my bad)
oh and what about a frog? wait no... thats an amphibian too... whats with me and water? dang... (<-thats a horribly corny joke... dont be afriad to laugh... no one's watching you... or are they?)

I would suggest a gecko because they usaully can be handled easilly and don't need special lights and huge tanks, small geckos can be kept in small tanks with electric heated rocks for laying on, which don't uasaully cost to much.

well i have 6 turtles 2 toads and 1 lizard and the lizard is a omnivore and the toads only eat live crkets and my turtles eat lettus and stuff like that so you should choose a turtle best if you find it that's just my opinion
