I like music that I can relate to. Something I can sing along with, remember the lyrics to, and just listen to so I can relax.

I don't hate rap.

It's just not a genre I like to listen to on a daily basis. :)

Because it is not talent... rap is crap without the C.. it is not music... I am a 70's person.. rock n roll.. but but but.. I appreciate the arts of the 40s, 50,s, 60's and so forth.. I appreciate the orchestra, (never opera.. sorry.. can't do opera) but all of it.. I appreciate the arts.. rap is not art..but.. maybe if I heard a rap done without the word **** in it every other word, I might be able to at least try to appreciate it.. but.. it is just a bunch of filth without any music to it.. Words unsung.. Anyone can write a stupid poem or a perverted poem... no talent there.. I could get up right now and do a rap with "there once was a man from nantucket".... haha not my idea, not my words. I dont have to have any true talent..

Why do these guys have to sound like they are so "hard" ? Thugs are the scourge of the community, not something to aspire to. Its too negative. It promotes a flossy lifestyle without substance. Did you know Americans spend more than they earn now? This country was founded on solid yankee values of hard work, delayed gratification, and problem solving. Rap is contributing to the cultural decay of our nation. I dont believe in flossing a 2K car stereo and 20 inch chrome rims on your escalade when you rent in the ghetto, have no savings, etc.
People that listen to rap are often vulgar, disrespectful, and wear ridiculous clothes. For god's sakes, pull up your pants, I dont want to see your boxers. And don't call the lady in the supermarket beya-itch, she's worked there for 15 years, and is a member of your community.
Oh yeah, besides the retarded mentality of the negative lyrics, there's rarely any melody, harmony or real music, its just boom and snap from a drum machine with some lame samples sequenced in.

it has no skill involved. i am the whitest guy i know. i'm also the best rapper i know. rappers make out that all white guys are stupid crackers ("who don get none biches") some rap is just random stuff, but it goes straight to the black kids heads. "chicken noodle soup" what the ****? some songs have obscene subject matter. everyone involved in rap seems to be a wannabe or a ho. now i will admit that there are wannabes in rock (blink-182, panic at the disco, nickelback, fall out boy, etc.) but at least they have the honesty to act like the queers they are, instead of trying to be gangster or something. and they can kind of play music instruments. at least i don't feel like shooting myself when i hear it. my friend hates it because he used to really be into it, and rappers were getting high. well, it all wound up and he has a drug problem. now i'm into punk rock, but here are the pros and cons versus rap:

1. its older.
2. dosen't aim for top 40. is rebellion
3. involves at least the ability to strum power chords. as opposed to fast talking
4. has fast vocals too
5. adrenaline
6. decent concerts
7. passion
8. has a style that didn't come from models in france
9. thats about all.

i hate rap with all my heart.

Rap was ok back when it first came out. When the "gangsta" rap started it went bad. All it is about is drugs, killing, and other violence. Remember the Sugar Hill gang? That was when it was alright. Rap just isn't for me but then I also HATE country music. I listen to everything else though. I did hear a new rap song that has a catchy tune. It says "Do yo chain hang low".(hope I spelled that right)

I Listen To Speed Metal And i like 2pac because he had some soul in him, but rap now is just plain stupid and everyone knows it, they just say "its good to dance to". but i realized that if your just dancing to music then it takes away the soulfulness and emotion of a song then every other "popular" person is gonna copy that idea that you can only dance to music then theyre will be no more music to "listen" to so i think we have to stop rap in its tracks and bring back the fun in listening to music instead of listening to black peaople talk about how much they like sex... yes i said black because white people pretty much arent accepted anywhere in this world anymore because black people say so and people are letting this go on and someone has to do something about this! down with rap and the promotion of what black people think and do because they are ruining this world and they are ruining music! Smoke Weed every day and drink more BEER!!! THRASH METAL TILL DEATH!!!

I don't think it takes any talent to rap, I don't think that the subjects they rap about are appropriate at all, and I just can't get into rap music. It's too vulgar for me.

Rap is for deadbeats.

50 Cent, Ludacris, and Fat Joe are not good. They are all horrible rappers and if you want rap that is somewhat good, try looking for music from the 80's. It's what rap was originally meant to be, not "YO CRISTAL CLUBBIN LOL GRILLZ CANDYSHOPS".

People only like it because it's what everyone else is listening to. The lyrics aren't very deep, and you can tell they didn't think very hard when they were writing songs... but I'm not going to be disrespectful and say it sucks, it's just not my taste. People are disrespectful to me about the music I listen to, but I don't want to be like them.
