If Pittsburgh loses today, they'll be 4 games back in the division, meaning their playoff prospects will be in jeopardy. Also, Denver will be 6-2, the Colts and Patriots will have at least 6 wins each after tonight (maybe 7 each if NE beats Indy), and San Diego, Cincinnati, Jacksonville, New York (Jets), and Kansas City are also ahead of them. At 2-6, the Steelers would have to win out to have a realistic shot at making the postseason.

I say the time to give up on them is almost upon you - a 7th loss should ensure that need. Ben's not a bum (yet), but he's going through what might be a delayed "sophomore slump." Or perhaps that wreck rattled his brain more than any of us know.

Big Ben has sucked since he set foot on the football field, he has always had good pass blocking, a great run-game to divert the defenses attention away from the passing game, and most importantly a great receiving core, take one of those things away and you have the Real Ben, the steelers are done this year if they lose to the broncos today which they will because Ben just threw another interception to Champ Bailey, the Steelers dont really have any other options at QB because starting Charlie Batch will accomplish nothing because he is an old QB who wont develop, they need to leave Ben in at QB and see if they can salvage him, if they cant then they need to draft, trade or pick one out of free agency, the Steelers have a stacked team so they SHOULD be in the playoffs next year if they dont have this same problem

Maddox went 6-10 and the city still liked him and wanted him to be the starter. I will never know WHY but I never liked Maddox. He was a pocket passer basically and you can't do that anymore, besides I was a Stewert fan and he was replaced by Maddox more to hold against Maddox. Just because you are either a fair weather fan or a hater doesn't mean you have a clue.

Oh and you can call Ben 1-5 BUT he was winning the game in ATL when he was injured and out. Batch went in and then they lost. Can you really blame Ben? It was only a field goal but that is plenty to win. Not saying it was Batch's fault they lost but in baseball the losing pitcher is the one who LOST. If a reliever goes in when they are winning and gives up the winning run they are the losing pitcher and the starter gets a no decision.

The Steelers ARE DONE. Give up on them people. Big Ben is injured and stanking. Put in Charlie Batch. I believe he is 1-0 this season. Whats Ben now 1-5. That answeres the question right there.

Yes, the Steelers are horrible this year and I can admit I am a fan of the Steelers but I wouldn't give up on my team just because they are having a bad start and year.Tell me something.Would you be a bad player if you had a motorcycle accident, emergency appendectomy and 2 weeks ago he was knocked out the game with a concussion? All teams have their bad moments..

Given the depth of the AFC, I would say thait's over right now for the Steelers, but Give Ben a break. He had to come back from his motorcycle accident and an appindectomy.
