Goth is a lifestyle, first and foremost. A real goth can dress any way they please - only insecure posers and total nongoths insist that goths must wear all black and act depressed at all times. Emo...some people would define emo attire as tight girl pants, tight ironic t-shirts, chunky mary janes, thick retro eyeglasses, eyeliner, scarves, ect. Of course, I'm sure some people will have completely contrary ideas, and there will be other definitions, so it would be better to look up definitions and pictures. Prep style is loosely defined as 'clothes found at Abercrombie and Fitch, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilifiger, and American Eagle' and the stuff worn by Prep School attendees and yuppies. Nerds wear short-sleeved work shirts, Star Wars/Star Trek related apparel or costumes, t-shirts with comic book characters on them, work shorts, and elf ears. (Seriously. I know this as a fact.) GOTH = MOSTLY BLACK CLOTHES, POSSIBLY SOME PIERCINGS AND FACIAL MAKE UP. EMO = NOT MUCH DIFFERENT FROM GOTH REALLY MAYBE A LITTLE MORE TOWARDS THE PUNK SIDE. PREP = SLACKS AND SHIRTS VERY CLEAN CUT. NERD = PANTS OR SHORT SHORTS, KNEE HIGH SOCKS.... DON'T FORGET THE PENCIL IN THE EAR LOL!

goth is all black, emo is cutting themselfs, prep is the short skirts and shorts and like slutty clothings, nerd is like socks above shows and like up to their knee's they type of guys that dont' get gf lol
