I already voted for him. But he doesn't want to legalize marijuana...he wants to decriminalize it. There's a difference. What is trying to get at with the decriminalization of marijuana is that too many people are being put in jail as first time offenders (possession of pot and what not). We would be better off as a state if those people wouldn't be taking up jail cells that could be used for more serious offenders.

Some of his propositions make sense, unfortunately given his independent status, and how overwhelming the loyalty to Republicans are in Texas, it will be highly improbable that he will win. If you have been following the election in Texas, the opposition’s vote to Rick Perry is divided among three people (Kinky freedman, Chris Bell, and Carole Strayhorn), hence making Rick Perry a virtual shoe in for reelection. Though I know it is an act of futility to vote for anyone, outside of a Republican in Texas, in the current political climate, I will be voting for Kinky out of gesture of dissent.

God bless him, but I am from Ohio and cannot vote for him.Would if I could though, I like him, he's a rarity in politics and we need more like him and Jesse Ventura. Straight talkers with common rather than political sense and by contrast very honest guys.

I'd vote for him if I lived in Texas. I like his motto. :) I hope he'll run for president eventually.
