Before I open a new account at work, I must first do a credit check. It's known as a "soft hit." Soft hits will not appear on a credit report. If your credit comes back as bad (collection accounts, judgments, bad checks outstanding etc.) you can be denied an account.

Most banks and credit unions are using this prescreening to save them from future fraud, losses, and things like that.

Not unless the bank did a credit check on you before opening the account. The bank would have to get your permission first though.

Opening multiple bank accounts only hurts your credit if other accounts were closed. Having multiple bank accounts that have funds will only add to your credit score.

If you have a number of credit cards with high credit limits, they may eventually have a negative affect on your credit score.

Take care,
Troy

There is no mention of your bank deposits on the 3 major credit reports nor is there any mention of income.
