I dont think your ever too old to keep a journal or diary. Journals/diaries are a therapeutic way to vent your thoughts on to paper and make sense of worries and anxieties.
It also gives you reference to go back and look at stuff you once wrote and still learn from those mistakes. Not to mention its great to hand down to your kids after your gone to show them a little of what you were like on the inside.
Ive never kept a journal, but for anyone wanting to do it i definately wouldnt put an age barrier on it. I think its great for the ppl that want to keep one. Even at 100!

hi
One is never too old to write a journal. I started in 1969 1970 or 71 1975 1986 1988 and still am and now I blog because I can fill up a 100 page journal book in 2 and a half to 3 months. That is about how old I was started in 1988. You are experiencing writers block

No one is ever too old to keep a diary/journal. I'm 53 and I have a journal. Queen Victoria kept a journal throughout her entire reign. There isn't a reason in this world why a 30-year-old can't keep a journal.

I say keep a journal as long as you want, cuz in the end when your having a crap day and you have no one to tell you will probably end up writing in it, its the best place to keep your secrets, as long as you don't let anybody else see it too. It matters because your children can read through it and see what you went through and say oh i'm going through that right now, what did she do to make it throught. It doesn't matter how old you are, keep a journal.

The day after you die.
Journaling is good for your physical and mental health. It also is a wonderful portrait of you and the world you live in.
It is and will be a wonderful gift to yourself and to your relatives, especially the younger ones. It's so hard for anyone to imagine their elders as real people. Your children, or the children of your close friends, will so appreciate a snapshot of what life was like for a person like you at a time like today
If your journal contains x-rated, embarrassing, or other thoughts that you'd rather not allow your ancestors to read, you can easily re-create one for posterity.
Who told you a 30-year-old can't/shouldn't keep a journal? I would guess that it was someone who was attempting to "passively" insult you over something completely unrelated.
Keep on writing!

You're never too old to keep a diary or journal.
I guess some might be jealous and would like a journal writer to stop so they wouldn't feel inadequate. In that case, keep it secret.
A 30yr old can keep a journal. Presidents, writers, scientists, many other people keep journals.
You are smart to keep it up!

I'm 34 and still keep a journal. I write it maybe with the hopes of my grandchildren or someone from the future may be interested in who I was. I would have been very interested to read my grandmothers(or other relatives) journal and their thoughts throughout their lives.

You're never too old. There are a million reasons to keep a journal (improve your writing skills, save old memories, leave a record for your future self/family/friends) which may change over time, but at every age it is a good idea.

Never!
Think about a few of the people from the Rennaissance era who kept journals and now we read them! (for example, DaVincci)
It is also usual to go on and off your writing habits and to try different forms. Maybe it could even be turned into a career. My grandmother keeps travel journals, and it something she would recomend to anyone.

keep a journal as long as you feel like writing. Some people still journal into adulthood and beyond. Save them, some day your great grand children will get to know you through them
