My mother and my brother have yeast infections, my brother's is moderate, my mother's is severe, and it is genetic, since my grandparents on my mother's side both had it severe as well.
My mother has tried everything for almost a decade now, but nothing has worked at all, and I mean NOTHING, not OTC drugs, not Acidophilus yogurt or pills, not creams, not even all of the general precautions for people with yeast infections.
They both have the Candida Albicans yeast strain, and my mother's case is extremely rare, because she is allergic to all antibiotics and can't take any natural or manmade drugs or ointments because EVERYTHING burns her in her women's area.
My brother has it in his eye so bad that he can't focus at all sometimes and no drugs have helped him either.
Any help will be appreciated, but info from people who had or still have this problem and defeated it with a non-standard method would be best.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Did you know that Candidiasis and Thrush (yeast infections) infects more then 80% of all people in the industrialized nations.
The first thing would be a diet change. Cut out all sugars... or as much as you can. Stay away from refined goods. No lunch meats. Next, i would suggest going to a health food store and getting a product such as Candistroy, or what ever you prefer.. Perhaps while you are there you could buy some garlic tablets (garlic is also good for killing off yeast)..... also buy some Caprylic Acid (kills yeast).
It is not enough to just destroy the yeast (which by the way can hide anywhere in the body .. not just private parts or mouth, eyes, it can affect the joints as well), you must be able to flush the dead yeast out of the body, as well as to introduce good bacterias back into the stystem with the acidophilus pills. You will also need to take supplements for liver support/cleansing, because as the yeast is killed off it turns into an alcohol, which can make a person feel foggy and tired, but it is just the yeast dying off. The liver needs to be supported at this time so that it can flush out all the dead yeast and toxins. This is a must. And of course drink pleanty of water..... alkaline water is preferable..
There is a new product that is out there called ThreeLac check it out as well. It is suppose to help get rid of stubborn yeast infections.
I am tired, so i hope i was not too confusing..... basically you need to kill off the yeast with a decent product i am sure there are enough listed ..... secondly because those natural products kill off yeast some of them also kill off the good bacteria that is in our stomachs or intestines that help keep yeast at bay... so that is why you will need to take probiotics two to three times a day. And then because of the yeast and toxins it will be hard on the liver as you start to get rid of it from the system... there fore a liver support supplement (which also can be bought from health food store) is imperative. Plenty of water to keep body flushing impurities out. ...... Good luck.....

OK, something that works for women: Garlic. I'm not joking! It has cured every yeast infection I have ever had and all my friends have ever had.
For a woman: take a whole peeled garlic clove (do not nick or cut it) and place it in a a bit of cheesecloth. Wrap it with a string and insert it like a tampon. This works. I'm not sure what to do with the eye, but it should help with the nether regions :)

I have to say that I didn't get over mine until I got rid of the sugar, and let me tell you it was harder than childbirth. I fainted and vomited with withdrawal within the first 4 days (when my body had likely depleted it's sugar stores in the liver). I basically then began to treat myself as hypoglycemic, and that has been a help. I didn't even begin to feel healthy and well until I'd been off all sugar (even fruit sugar, milk sugar, and processed carbs like white flour products) for six weeks. Now I still get cravings but it's more manageable. When I'd been off sugar for six months I added back small amounts of milk and fresh fruit (like apples, but nothing with a super-high sugar content like mangos or anything). Basically I ate (and eat) lean meats, non-starchy vegetables, and some high-fiber grains. This is now my life, and I'm healthier than I've ever been. Cravings aren't so bad now, 10 months after I started.
I understand that it's very individual, and perhaps your family has it worse than I had it. I used the supplement Three Lac (it isn't really all that new) for a while and it was helpful, but I didn't do the diet (it claimed you don't have to, nice thought but I don't think anybody can make that claim) so I had to keep taking it, and it's kind of expensive.
I use the sweetener/supplement stevia, and I like it a lot. Also licorice root tea tastes very delicious.

I have a homeopathic medicine that works very well on my yeast infections. My problems are not as severe as your mom's and brothers, but I hope this will help them as well as it did for me. It is called Candida Yeast Relief and is made by Natra-Bio. It comes in liquid form and tablets too. You must take it for about two months, but I found relief within hours.
I purchased the product from Vitamin Shoppe, which is available on line as well as physical locations.

First of all try to avoid refined sugar, honey, maple syrup and fruit juice! These can aggravate the condition. Oregano, peppermint, rosemary or thyme capsules may help. But get them in capsule form to avoid heartburn. Garlic is anti-fungal as well. Echinacea stimulates production of macrophages, which destroy yeast cells. For the skin try a lavender bath. Hope some of this helps. My sister swears by douching with yogurt (yuck!).

I think you need a second opinion---your doc has not explored all the options.
NOBODY is allergic to ALL antibiotics!
Find a new doctor, and you will be very glad you did!
