No wonder our country's going to hell in a handbasket. Our kids are growing up to be idiots!

Sad but true. Hard work is just not being sold as a virtue anymore. Not only are a lot of young people mentally lazy, they're physically lazy as well. You can't seem to get them away from video games and televisions. I recently read grandparents were more active than their grandchildren - the first generation in history where that ever happened.

Wow. I will agree that there are people who will come onto this site in order to have someone else get there homework done, but I also suspect that there are a great deal of people who cannot do figure out a question or problem, and are just looking for help. English is a hard subject if you aren't so inclined. And, yes, it may seem like Americans these days cannot read or do anything on their own; that they are lazy individuals who sit about the house and play video games.

The problem, however, is not completely theirs. For several decades, only the wealthy upperclass could read. The lower class did not have the opportunity nor time to sit and learn to read, write, and do arithmetic. Today, many people take for granted the school systems we have, and they do not understand when they find children who have a hard time in their classes; who cannot keep up with the 'norm' or Bush's 'No Child Left Behind'. *soap box breaks* Well, I guess that's my cue to leave.

I don't know and I don't really mind cause I usually learn something new while I'm browsing.

As far as our kids growing up to be idiots....I wouldn't place the all the blame on Yahoo or our kids being lazy. It takes many different institutions and individuals to craft a fine, well-rounded, idiot. I think it's time for America to quit being ashamed of this strenght like it's a bad thing. I say we should embrace it and start to take some pride in it! It's who we are! Go America! Stamd tall!

Because they get answers fast & easy.

btw, Yahoo doesn't make dumb kids, America does.

society no longer cares about each other
people dont care about kids learning, they care about them getting high grades so their stats raise and they're classed as a "good school"
everyone is for themselves these days,
how much money can they steal from their kids piggybank before they feel bad?
they could steal the entire thing and watch the kids eyes water as they realize what a waste all the saving was (this is a metaphor ladies and gentlemen)
and STILL not feel bad
because they got the money

I wouldn't go as far as to say idiots as to say just plain lazy. Why do something themselves when they can get someone else to do it for them? Well, maybe I will agree with idiots, their spelling is atrocious. Some think it makes them look and sound cool when they write like that. I think it makes them look stupid.

I've noticed that too. Many of these questions are probably written by the posters teacher or professor. People are too lazy to do the work on there own.
