Alesandro Volta. How do I pronounce AlesSANdro? is the AN like mAN? or does it sound like on?

a-less-an-dro, quite phonetically. The a is small case, less as in the word, an as in Man, and dro as in drove.

Don't be mislead--it is not Alihandro--that's another name entirely, which is correctly spelled "Alejandro".

SteveUK got it mostly right, except for the third syllable is pronounced "on" not "an". And if you want to be really impressive, you can roll the "r" at the end. Spanish-speakers will love you for that. Give it a try!
