Well being that I used to work in a nursing home for over 26 years I can give you a few ideals. well for the women they can always used stuff like poweder not pefrume or scent but like body powder and also they can used like socks that no slick bottoms on them. Also the women can used lotions, facial tissue etc. Men you can get them house shoes, and some aftershave lotion and deotrant. these are some of the things that they gave ours residents. hope it help and god bless you.

Older people in nursing homes normally don't have much to do go to the Dollar General and get some card games and jigsaw puzzels they shouldn't cost more than a dollar a piece. Then you can bake or buy some sugar free cookies. Wrap them up and the elderly will enjoy getting the surprise and more importantly they will enjoy having you there with them! Good Luck! Sometimes it's hard with older people. I would call the nursing home and ask what they would suggest. That way no one will be disappointed.

How about some small plastic containers wrapped in holiday cloth with Q tips inside. They can sit them on their bedside tables and they will be colorful and festive and also practical.

Fruit, candy (ask staff if the person can have such things...teeth problems, digestive problems, etc.) Cross word books, word search books, op art, puzzles, small transistor radio w. headphones. greeting cards, stamps, paperback books. Pray with/for them. Hope this helps you.

bake oatmeal cookies or some muffins, go to a 99 cent store and by small little baskets and some shiny transparent gift basket paper and wrap them up.
